Peinemann Port Services inspects and repairs crane of RWG

Posted: 9 July 2020

Due to the strong gusts of wind at the end of 2019, an automatic stacking crane at Rotterdam World Gateway (RWG) derailed and was seriously damaged. At the time, the crane was put back into the rails by the Peinemann salvage team, but unfortunately the crane could no longer be used. The engineers at Peinemann Port Services have carried out an extensive inspection and wrote an advice report. Repair work was finally started in January 2020. For the safety and operational availability of the other stacking cranes, it was decided to transport the crane to a repair site. Here, the crane was repaired on a large scale in ± 10 weeks and made suitable for use again. In the meantime, the crane has been fully operational again to the satisfaction of RWG.
